Comprehensive SAT Math Notes
Most students can find it challenging to find the time and motivation to study for the SAT. How does someone study for a test that covers years of learning while still being a full-time student? This is a fair question and one that our math tutor, Marga White, is ready to help them with.
For Marga, this meant creating a tool to make studying for the two math sections of the SAT simple and effective. SAT Math Notes was created. These study notes aren't designed to reteach math from the beginning but rather refresh the student's memory of the concepts they'll find on the SAT exam. These notes work as the perfect SAT practice test preparation by refreshing some of the most commonly forgotten math concepts and providing step-by-step instructions on how to solve many of the different types of questions they will encounter.
Designed for Your Success
Backed by several years of tutoring experience, Marga started creating her SAT prep notes by focusing on the types of problems students generally miss. Her first step was by going over all 464 math problems from the eight publicly available SAT practice tests provided by The College Board and creating notes.
She then provided these notes to several of her SAT prep students to try out and give her feedback. A year later, with lots of rewriting and polishing, she is now ready to share her notes with students worldwide.
The Four Categories of Math Study Notes
The SAT math score is reported in four different categories. This is why Marga decided to split her notes into the same four categories so that students can see where they need to put their energy in order to score higher next time.
The four categories include:
- Heart of Algebra - Linear Equations, Inequalities, Functions, & Graphs (30%)
- Problem Solving & Data Analysis - Percentages, Ratios, Rates, & Data Analysis (30%)
- Passport to Advanced Math - Non-Linear Equations, Exponents, Radicals, & Quadratics (30%)
- Additional Topics in Math - Geometry, Trigonometry, & Complex Numbers (10%)
Marga recommends that you take both math sections (3 and 4) from one of the College Board practice exams and grade them. This will give you a baseline score for your current math skills to know where you need to focus your studying. Take your time with the math study notes so that you can fully understand each concept and commit it to memory, especially the ones you missed on the practice exam.

Calculus study Notes - Coming Soon!
Calculus allows students to learn how to transcend the boundaries of algebra; to understand the concepts of limits, continuity, derivatives, and integration. With these tools, students are able to study and analyze rates of change from a mathematical perspective.
